Have you got a Pokémon fan in the family who loves collecting, swapping or battling with their cards? Or perhaps they're more into Yu-Gi-Oh! or another trading card game? If so, this one's for you!
Card Fest is coming to Venue Cymru in Llandudno for the very first time on Saturday 30th January 2027, bringing together card collectors and players of all ages for a day of trading, games and plenty more.
Whether they're just starting out or have been collecting and playing for years, there's something for everyone, including younger children, teenagers and adult fans.
Even better, under 13s go free with a paying adult, and there are free activity packs to help younger visitors take their first steps into the world of trading cards!
What can families expect at Card Fest?
There's plenty going on throughout the day, including:
Trading card stalls: Browse stalls selling collectible cards, accessories and more, covering everything from Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! to Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana, One Piece, Star Wars Unlimited and sports cards.
Card trading: Meet other collectors, hunt for cards you've been looking for and swap with fellow enthusiasts.
Free-play tables: Bring your favourite deck and enjoy a game with friends, family or other players.
Learn-to-play sessions: New to trading card games? Have a go and learn the basics.
The Card Fest Discovery Cup: Put your skills to the test and compete to become champion of the Discovery Zone!
Free activity packs for under 13s
Card Fest has free activity packs for under 13s, with a selection of activities and little surprises for younger visitors.
The contents can vary depending on the event, but packs typically include a scavenger hunt card, stickers, colouring activities, sweets, small custom-made trinkets and a Battle Trail.
The Battle Trail involves completing a series of challenges to build up a battle deck before taking on the final boss.
Take on the Card Fest Discovery Cup
Got a keen trading card player in the family who fancies putting their skills to the test?
The Card Fest Discovery Cup is a tournament where players compete to become champion of the Discovery Zone.
There's no recommended minimum age for taking part, so younger players who know their way around the game are welcome alongside teenagers and adults.
Entry costs £20 per player, and you'll need to register in advance by completing the online form on the Card Fest website.
The registration fee goes towards tournament prizes, organisers and judges, as well as gaming mats for winners and runners-up. Card Fest doesn't make a profit from the tournament.
Is Card Fest suitable for younger children?
Absolutely! Younger children can enjoy their free activity packs, explore the stalls and soak up the atmosphere and buzz of the event, even if they're not quite ready to play themselves. And with plenty for teenagers and adults too, it's an event the whole family can enjoy.
