If your family enjoys walking, there are coastal paths leading away from the beach, so you can make your visit as short or as long as you like. Some families stop for half an hour to take in the views, while others happily spend a few hours exploring the coastline. Don't rule it out in winter either - wrapped up warm, it's a great place for a coastal walk. Just make sure everyone has sturdy footwear, as the rocks and paths can be slippery, particularly after wet weather.
On a clear day, keep an eye out across the water towards Puffin Island. You might spot seals resting on the rocks or, if you're particularly lucky during the summer months, dolphins out at sea. It's also a brilliant place for birdwatching, so don't forget the binoculars if you've got them.

There's a café overlooking the water serving drinks, snacks and meals, with toilets available for customers. Parking is accessed via a toll road, which currently costs £3.50, and spaces can fill up during busy periods.
Before you reach Penmon Point, it's also worth stopping at Penmon Priory just at the entry point of the Penmon Point toll road. The ancient priory, stone cross and St Seiriol's Well make an interesting detour, especially if you've got children who enjoy exploring somewhere with a bit of history.
